2014 ISAF Worlds

The 2014 ISAF World Championships was one of the most challenging regattas we have ever competed in. The competition was of the highest calibre and the wind gods threw everything at us. The regatta was at the end of rollercoaster year, which did not begin the way we hoped. Our early disappointments proved to make us stronger and we made gains throughout the year to peak at the World Championships, achieving a Bronze medal whilst also qualifying Australia for a position in the Nacra 17 class at the 2016 Olympic Games.

In reflection we have achieved all the goals we had set ourselves last October: qualifying the country for the Olympics, making the podium at the World Championships and qualifying ourselves for the Australian Sailing Team prior to the Worlds. We are now making big plans for the next twelve months, with only one thing in mind, and that is Olympic Gold in 2016 for Australia. We are back on the water in Australia, back at the gym and training with our coach and the rest of the squad. Thanks to everyone for their support this year,  Tony Walls from Objective, Traks Gordon from the Objective Future Champions Program, the Australian Institute of Sport, Audi, Hamilton Island, Nautica, Zhik, DeckHardware, Blackmores, Ronstan, MauiJim, 776BC, the amazing support team from Australian Sailing and all our followers and fans!
